What is Good Enough?

It’s a big claim …
I help businesses build products that their customers love
But 80% of new product launches fail
One of the simplest ways I avoid this is to build early stage prototypes to test customer desirability before committing to full on product launch. It used to be that we always needed a designer to produce these prototypes, but now with the advancement of landing page builders and AI tools it is becoming much easier to build something quickly that is ‘good enough’ to put in front of customers.
🤔But what is ‘good enough’ ?
I’ve recently been working with a client where we built a very simple Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for testing with users.
☹️It did not go well
We discovered what we actually needed was a Minimal Loveable Product (MLP) for testing with our users. The prototype that we built needed to engage our users more and offer them a moment of delight, similar in experience to our previous products. Infact in this example we did need more designer input.
😀 But we now have something that is ‘good enough’ to put in front of customers to seek feedback and start iterating on our product to accelerate its development.
‘Good enough’ can mean not only solving your customers problems but also delighting them along the way.
[Please forgive shameless use of kitten images to illustrate my point]
